Thanks for digging this one up Skip! I have saved it to my Simmons research file. More evidence that Simmons/Winchester did not close the Walden Knife plant and move the equipment to NewHaven until 1927, not 1923 as is commonly believed.
This goes for me too! Now I'm gonna hafta make the correction to the timeline I had created...

I have not visited theses sites in over a year... but when I was in-between jobs, I spent hours systematically going through theses journals of "The American Cutler" started in the 1910's & published through the 20's... a great resource about the news of the times specifically targeting our favorite subject... altho I never did get through them all...

Skip, if you hover your cursor over the article that Steve posted it will show you the newspaper name and date. I have noticed that doesn't happen with the articles you post. When I copy articles from newspaper sites, sometimes the paper name and date appear in the name of the image, and sometimes they don't. I am not sure if this has to do with the web site or the way in which the image is retrieved from the web site??

Skip, if you hover your cursor over the article that Steve posted it will show you the newspaper name and date. I have noticed that doesn't happen with the articles you post. When I copy articles from newspaper sites, sometimes the paper name and date appear in the name of the image, and sometimes they don't. I am not sure if this has to do with the web site or the way in which the image is retrieved from the web site??
Thank you Dan, it doesn't work like that on my mini iPad. Maybe it works like that on my computer, but I don't use my computer that often. That is why I print the date of each picture/article at the top of the post. I'm actually going through complete newspaper editions and looking for basically anything that has to do with knives (as you can tell). When I find something, I screen capture it, edit it for size and brightness and then post it/them. A few of the pictures/articles do have the date(s) included in the picture, that's just the way it worked out.
