Picked up a new display case recently. Decided to start it out with a Scout theme. Sorry the pictures aren’t better but with all the glass it’s hard to get a photo without glare or reflections.

When shooting through glass I usually set my camera on macro and step back a bit and shoot at a slight angle to vertical.This way the flash(if you are using one)does not reflect off the glass but will still illuminate the subject.You may have to experiment a bit until you get the correct angle but it seems to work for me. Nice display by the way.

The display case was expensive but believe it to be a reproduction.. Thoughts!
The RS3333 has a MEDIUM length screwdriver, line bolster and a FLAT shackle... Hmmm...
The RS4783 has the can opener at the wrong end requiring that the blade and cap puller be reversed...
The third knife has R4783 (Not RS) stamped in a well defined 50% larger font.... am I too picky?

I have seen the RS4783 in both variations. I also have one with the bail on the wrong end. I suspect that your RS3333 has a replacement bail. Beautiful artifacts nonetheless.
Nice Remington scouts! I’m only able to tell you that the display case you have, from what I see anyway, appears to have the same latch hardware as the originals I have seen. I have two that are definitely reproductions (I bought them as such) which have only a single latch, centered on the front. I don’t know if any of the originals were made like that but those I’ve seen that I believe to be original had two latches.
Ronfish, Scoutknives, and bestgear are resident Scout pattern experts here. I see ronfish has already made a post about your knives. I’m sure others more knowledgeable than me will be along.

Ken I'm no expert in this arena but I do know enough to know you dad put together an excellent collection. I'm sorry for your loss but I'm glad you are taking so much interest in the jewels he left for you. Welcome to AAPK.

For sure the display case is a reproduction .
Their were many variations made threw the years , your scouts look good to me except for the bail on the rs3333 , it’s definitely a replacement .
Their are a couple good reference books that help in identifying scouts .
Official scout blades and 600 scout knives .
Hi Ken - Great Remingtons that your dad assembled - I hope you keep it together and make it a family heirloom. I agree with the assessments that have been made so far and also confirm that the well made display box is a reproduction. The original display boxes are tough to find and expensive while the reproductions are well made with oak and fine hardware. Welcome to AAPK, I hope you pull up a chair and stick around for a while.
Out of curiosity, are these the only knives that your dad assembled? Tom

Ken - Here's some pictures I took this morning which might help answer some of your questions (or generate more, sorry). While I'm sure the Remington display case you have was expensive, I also believe it to be a thoughtful reproduction and a fine tribute to the original. I also have a 1927 RS3333 (4th from the left in picture #2) with a medium length screwdriver, line on the bolster and a bail that is flat on the inside only. I don't have a RS4783 with the can opener at the wrong end but that could be the result of an improper reassembly (guess). Your third knife in question (the R4783 (Not RS)) being stamped in a larger font could be the result of being stamped with he wrong die intended for another model (guess again). You are NOT being too picky, your observations and pictures are both appreciated and treasured for generations to come behind us.

Thanks Tom! I was hoping one of y’all would have an authentic original display box. I looked through old posts yesterday trying to find some good detailed pictures of one but didn’t see anything like what you posted. That’s very helpful.
