Here’s a Sabre Monarch USA, should be here in a couple days… I recently acquired an interest in these as A cheap way to expand my collection with some good EDCs.
Great find! You don't see those early USA Sabres that often.

I think those were Schrade (and I think Ulster too) at one point. I have the 231 Stockman, which is the same as a 1960s Schrade 881. And they are good EDCs. Excellent quality, and some of the nicest Delrin I have seen used. That was the knife that finally made me actually want to retire my 34OT which I'd had since I was 10.

Cody— I have an early stockman also.. I love it..I am bidding on a early saber USA barlow right now also… Quality knives cheap… I’d rather carry a good old pocket worn knife than a modern Chinese made one any day..I like carrying old Camillus Scout knives also that I get cheap and restore a little bit

Nice! ::tu::
Just shows to go ya that cheap in cost doesn't have to mean cheap in quality.

And you might find this hard to believe, but I was able to get mine from a local eBay seller (who, I later learned, reading the newspaper, was the band director for UVA-Wise) for only a dollar. He'd listed a bunch of knives that was a mix of coal mine safety awards and used/carried (but not trashed/abused/worn out) knives from the 1960s-1970s period; none of them seemed to get a whole lot of bids; thus I got them CHEAP. I got two Frontier by Imperial Westmoreland Coal Co. knives for my collection ($5 each) and two users, the Sabre and a Boker USA 3588 Serpentine Pen (both at a buck each). The Boker, by far, sees the most use, due to being slim, and having that tough 1085 steel.

IMO that will clean up nicely. A Boker barlow I have looked about like that and it responded to some attention really well.
Can't beat the price!

I just obtained, for best offer, this Imperial, "Deer Head", camping/scouting style pocket knife. It will make a wonderful addition to the zoo. It'll get the once over when I receive it. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

One of those items I'd been meaning to get for a long time, but just now got around to it. I got the email that it shipped this morning; so It's In The Mail. It is a bigger knife, 4 3/4" closed with a just over 3.5" D2 Tool Steel blade. While I normally pass on knives made by clothing companies because they are crap (5.11 Tactical really comes to mind); this one seems to spec out quite well, with a quite thick D2 blade, G-10 handle, and is made in Taiwan, not China. MSRP is $60, I paid just over $30 from the company's website factoring in shipping.

First Tactical Krait Spear. I had to go with a screenshot. Despite being JPG images, they just wouldn't work here or even on my IMGUR account for use on another forum. I suspect they've done something to the images to prevent unauthorized reposting/reuse.

Capture.PNG

I haven't had a horse in close to ten years. I've always liked hoof knives for some reason. I'd been watching this particular Frosts (Mora) for quite some time, as I felt it would be a good utility fixed blade as well as it doesn't have the special blade shape or handle of most you see. Seller sent me a "special offer" knocking the $16 shipped price down to $10, so I bit immediately. Mora's MSRP is $22. We have sheep; so it can be used on them as well. I plan to modify that unsharpened area between handle and blade into a choil.

Frosts (which merged with Eriksson to form Morakniv; but survives as Mora's line of "trade" knives) Toeing Knife 330.

I just purchased this "unbranded", 2 blade, "Deer Head" pocket knife. Another great looking acquisition for the zoo. I'll give it the once over when I receive it, although it looks like it is in fantastic condition. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).
