#2, same yard sale, any help?

Another "goodie"?
Tang reads, LK CO. (over) USA
Has original bail and also solid and tight. None of my books has any info. Does anybody have any info? Age? Mfr? etc, etc.
Paid 5 bucks for both of them. Cleaned up real nice and amazingly great shape and both are unusual. Appreciate any info/help.

OK,

Just trying to read the knife...
It looks like an Imperial Jack-master, with pressed sheetmetal (Shell) handles. First made in the U.S.A. around 1936. The stamp looks like I.K. CO. to my eyes, and would have been used before the Crown became part of the stamp.

Bill is right....IMPERIAL KNIFE Co of Providence RI...that pattern/handle was widely produced in both a one and two blade version. The originals will have the chain but a lot of those got lost.

IT'S DEFINITELY(OOPS caps lock) LK, its an L for sure as there is only one leg off the right side, I re-looped it to be sure. DOES this help ??

A friend was here looking at the pics I Submitted, I see you guys are thinking it's, I-dot, K-dot.Could be. Not home right now,but I will look more closely, take a good closeup and re-submit. Can't wait to get home !!

Yes it probably is stamped I.K. Co.

Let me put it this way - if it reall IS stamped L K Co, then Imperial made it on contract for whoever L K Co is.

Glenn,
I believe it's an inexpensive shell handled knife. It is in nice shape...but it's not a valuable knife. Regardless of what the stamp appears to read, and even though several of us feel strongly it is an I. K. CO. ...because of the style of knife, and when that style was introduced in the U.S.A.... if you feel differently, you could always have someone like Bernard Levine give you an appraisal.

Good luck with these two yard sale finds, in any case.
