BUCK knife model# stamped on back of tang

Post by TripleF »

Does this still fall in the 1972 - 1986 tang stamp era?

Scott, I am NOT a Buck expert but I believe the Buck 315 Yachtsman was made by Camillus starting in 1972,
The early model were BUCK/MADE IN/USA with the Model # on the back side of the tang.

Hopefully someone else can verify if this is correct

Scott,

Camillus made their own style of riggers knives, the Camillus 697.

They made the 315 Yachtsman for Buck. The Marlin Spike knives made by Camillus for Buck was stamped with the model #315. Camillus started making the Buck Marlin Spike knives in February of 1969 and used the "Made In USA" under BUCK.

You've got an oldie, there. And yes...your knife would fall into the 72-86 timeline, at a minimum.
