HELP me CASE 6383 "CASE'S BRADFORD PA" stamp whitt

Post by oregonedge »

This early 6383 has regular Bradford stamps but also a "Case's Bradford PA" stamp with the ('S) after CASE on one of the small blades. Anyone know anything about this stamp? Rare, common?

I saw that one today too. It is a rare stamp, there are other rare ones like CASE'S SONS. I believe that the CASE BRADFORD stamped knives are from a later period though like the 1920's. For one thing, WR Case & Sons did not own the "TESTED XX" trademark until after 1915 when Case Brothers went under. Most if not all CASE BRADFORD stamped knives will have the TESTED XX (in a circle) markings on the secondary blades.

This one doesn't have the TESTED XX in the circle or otherwise. The other stamp is simply 6383 XX. Does that help at all? here are the other stamps besides the CASE'S BRADFORD PA
