Case 2nd Cut Stag????

Post by Paladin »

Guys,
I was just trying to do a write up on this little Case knife and altho I am not a Case collector or expert, I would have sworn the handles are 2nd cut stag yet the tang stamp is 6233.
My question are these; Are these handles 2nd cut stag? Should the stamp be 5233 rather than 6233?

Looks like amber bone to me.
The 6 would make sense.

But I've been wrong before.

Of all the recent handle materials that Case has used I think amber bone is my favorite. Although, it may be a bit over used.

Nice little Case you have there. I would call it a Sunday knife!
