Wow! That's a beauty Scott! I'm dying to try to carve a spoon but then I never do it. Not sure if I'm lazy or chicken. Or maybe both. A lazy chicken. What kind of wood is that?

Sanding is what takes the longest.....couple 2, 3 hours. Maybe a little more.

Another mullberry wood spoon. The handle is crooked because of the wood grain direction in the spoon. It actually works good in the hand even though it doesn't look like it.

Nice spoon Doug! I tried to make one of those match stick flowers of yours this evening on the couch.
Ended up with a pile of splinters & one small cut on my left index finger.

Thanks! Sorry to hear that. Start on a corner just slightly down from the very top. Then do another just to the right of it and another just a little bit to the right turning it as you go. I highly recommend at least a decent leather glove on your left hand.

This is an emergency backpack spoon. Tie it inside your backpack on a loop or on a zipper...never be without an eating utensil again!
