Napanoch blade
Well in case you folks havent figured it out a lot of the knives I have are family related. I'm very lucky to have many pocket knives that belonged to family members. I was really lucky that when my great grandfather passed the adults allowed me to have many sharp pointy things from the hilltop farm when it was being cleaned out to be sold. The farm was on mother's side of the family for over 100 years. I have pocket knives and also striaght razors from that farm. Many I found in the attic while helping clean. The farm is long sold and I am long past being a kid but the knives and razors will always have a special meaning and more value to me then monetarily.
So here is one of those knives this one is a Napanoch knife. Little did I know as a kid how many knife plants were located near Ellenville. We drove countless times through Ellenville and Napanoch on the way to visit the farm .
Just thought Id share. I really dont know much about this knife other than it's a Napanoch

That one is a real treasure and an important piece of knife history. The Napanoch knife company started in 1900 and was bought out by Winchester in 1919 when they decided to get into the knife business. Thanks for sharing!

That is nice, I'm happy you have this part of your family. I passed my dads old knife to my son a few years back. Nice family history.

Re: Napanoch blade
As I understand it Napanoch made a second appearance after honk falls had a fire. 1931 to 1938 being done by Cushner . I tried to find dating info by tang stamp but so far no go. Anyone know an approx date on this knife?

Here are some more pictures of the knife. I did a light cleanup and touched the edges up of the blades as well. Oiled the joints. I didnt want to clean it much but preserve it as it is and has been. For its age I think it's in pretty good shape. Still tight and has nice walk and talk on both blades. My pics are iffy at best I'm no photographer and it's just my cell phone too.

Re: Napanoch blade
I'm starting to see how much a little slice of history this knife and company represents. Course it's even more important to me since it was family. I'm glad to have it and be able to some.day pass it along to my kids. Tip of my hat to the forum folks made me look a bit closer at it and realize what it really is....thanks
