Ryan, those button hook knives are fun. Large hooks for shoes and small hooks for gloves. Every Lady had one. Brings up images of a different time. Cool. ::nod:: ::nod::

It’s my first one..thanks Floyd! My grandma, God bless her, is 98. I’m going to ask her if she ever had one.

I think gloves with buttons are older than your grandma by about 20 and more years (late 1800's & very early 1900's before WW I).

I received this made in China Coleman lockback today. I'll be honest guys, it's a POS knife. ::doh::
Fit and finish is Ok. It looks cool. It's not very sharp but that could be fixed.

But..., it has Zero snap when you close it. In fact you have to push the blade closed. If you loosen the screw it gains a little closing snap but not untill the screw is really loose. ::td:: You guys may think I have a screw loose ::dang:: but I don't. And I don't have any snap either. I hate knives without snap! ::td::

Wish I could have told you guys it's a great little knife but I can't. It's ok for a tool or tackelbox but it's not worthy of an EDC or showcase status in my opinion. ::td:: Should have bought some toilet paper instead of this POS. ::woot::

::hmm:: Reading your comment gave me an idea. I could try some whittling or carving with it. If it gets broken, it's No great loss.

Hey Tom, I could be wrong, but I don’t think that knife is suppose to have much snap. It’s a lockback and some of those will give you a nice solid “click” when it locks but no snap like on a traditional slip joint. Either way, when it comes to Coleman, stick to the ones made in Japan, they are top quality knives. And I agree, use it for those things you wouldn’t want to risk a good knife on.

Ok Thanks for the info Mark! ::handshake:: Your correct, it does make a health "click" when it locks. ::tu:: And I was not aware that lockbacks didn't have much snap. I don't own many of them. Good to know! ::tu:: :D

Nice looking knives everyone. ::tu::

This latest zoo occupant arrived yesterday. Another Imperial "Deer Head" pocket knife. Didn't need a cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here it is.

I noticed this little EO Imperial for sale the other day. The blades looked full, the handles didn't seem to have too much shrinkage, it was advertised as made in the 1970s. Could see just enough of the tang stamp to know it was earlier than the 70's, turned out to be the 1936-'52 stamp. The bolsters, liners are all steel. I assume that type material indicates WWII time frame. ::hmm:: I don't think the knife has ever seen a whet stone, the pen blade has a tiny nick and a tiny square point. With free shipping I'm pleased.
