Nice ones geocash, always have liked the look of ACSB.
Neat one Quick Steel, can you tell me more about it?
Enjoying a snow day with the girls, this wharncliffe lockback whittler hanging out in my pocket. Joel Chamblin made this one for me using stag, gold pins and CTS-XHP blades and springs.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
This little knife is a great favorite of mine. Paul Chen, the custom knife/sword maker and founder of Hanwei, had a few of these made by his company. The knife is 4" closed with a 3" blade. I do not know the blade steel. I do know that when Mr. Chen moved to Dalian China, the steel-making center, he was dissatisfied with even the best steels offered so he created his own steel production facility. The skills of this talented company have resulted in it being entrusted with the restoration of ancient and highly valued samurai swords. The son, Ron Chen continued after his father's retirement. Ron studied katana making for three years under Yoshinda Yoshihara learning the traditional Japanese techniques.
But I digress. The blade is razor sharp. There is a clever locking mechanism. Pushing forward on the thumb stud releases the lock for closure.

Thanks, much appreciated, Joel did a fantastic job. It is a very hard pattern to make right.
Thanks, I thought it was a Hanwei. I was wondering about the locking mechanism, as I could see something different with the thumb stud, very nice and thanks for sharing. I have met Mr. Yoshihara at the AKI, hard to conversate through a translator. Very nice gentleman and extremely talented. He had a few different blades, between 6,000 and 35,000$.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 7:17 pm This little knife is a great favorite of mine. Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thanks, Kris. I have a full blown case of ACSB fever. It's not too bad 'cause it usually comes with a pretty good knife. Joel Chamblin stag fever must be very contagious. One look at your whittler & I'm having a hard time controlling myself.Montanaman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:13 pm Nice ones geocash, always have liked the look of ACSB.

Great knives and information everyone. Got this one cleaned up and useable. Not sure of the maker. Just says U.S.A. on the tang.
