Have you seen this knife?

Single blade trapper lock back knife I found in 1982 in an old house. There are no markings on blade,tang,bolster or any part of knife at all. It has seen extensive use and sharpened quite a bit. I wish I could identify this knife

welcome david. no help as far as id. nice lookin ole bullet. remington used that shield and plenty of knock-offs.

looks like a R1306 Remington. Sharpened way down.

That appears to be an authentic Remington Bullet- R1306. I'd say at least $200 in its present condition.

Thanks Remington Collector, I am puzzled as why I can't see any blade or tang stamp. I have not tried to clean it. Do you know year originals were made? Did they have their own factory or did they sub out the work?

After further examination with a strong light and magnifying glass I can very faintly read r1306 on the tang which is opposite of the shield side. YooHoo!

Was made before 1940. They made thier own knives. The reason they made thier own knives was to keep the workers busy after WW1. They had employed extras workers during WW1 and after it was over, instead of just firing the hands, they put them to making knives.
