My Camillus streamline jack knife

I just got this good looking Camillus knife off the bay. Only problem is no snap in the small blade. Thanks to other members on here I figured out the problem. The tang is worn down so it don't pushes against the sping .
I have no plans for repairing it, got plenty of good knives. Other than that it's a great knife for my collection. Not bad at all for under $30. No cracks at all in the handles. Just coming up very slightly in the corners. Blades have been sharpened but look good. As other members have said , keep them joints oiled or lubed.

That is one of my favorite Camillus jack patterns! The handles look good when they're in nice shape, but I can tell those are starting to go and if you don't change them before too long they may cause permanent damage your knife. I have probably close to two dozen of those, almost every one in pieces because that particular type of celluloid off-gasses so badly and it is not always obvious from the outside.

If you really like it and want to use it in it would might be fine for a while, or it could break in half tomorrow, (I have actually had that happen).
It's a real shame that such a beautiful knife with such great design and character had such bad handle material.

I have always liked the way they etched/stamped the blade on those and yours looks pretty pristine. Heed Orvet's advice, these don't have a good track record, unfortunately.

I really like the way the handles look on this knife. What a shame the celluloid has a chemical break down. Looking at photos on this forum you can see what happens when things go to far. I am keeping a close eye on this old Camillus. Thank you orvet and 1967redrider.
