It looks to be a "skeleton knife". A knife manufacturer makes the knife without handle covers. These are sold to jewelers, etc who mount the handles, often thin sheet of rolled gold, etc.
The markings might be those of the business that put on the handle pieces and if so can be difficult to trace.

As Roland said it is a skeleton knife. The mark may be SOB CO. It looks to be fairly well made and reminiscent of maybe a Miller Bros. or some other equally good company. Many of these were marked on the bail if it had one.I have a bunch of them that are unmarked.

My guess is Manicure blade, common on a 2 blade lobster pattern.Hopefully O.P. will post a picture of entire blade.

That’s what I would expect also but can’t see it in any picture. Just curious if it might be a seed pick. But I doubt it. I don’t think it is one, but that would confirm or refute Floyd’s guess about it being a fruit knife.kootenay joe wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 1:35 amMy guess is Manicure blade, common on a 2 blade lobster pattern.Hopefully O.P. will post a picture of entire blade.

If a Fruit knife master blade should be either silver or stainless steel. This blade looks to be a carbon steel (non-stainless).

You're probably right Roland. I was looking at the slenderness of the 2ndary blade.

Manicure blade, but rather narrow. Tip is to clean fingernails and narrow serrated surface is to file fingernails. Often a manicure blade will have a wider file.
