Thanks skip. I took my fingernail and whatever it was came off easily around the shield. I don't think it was glue. It came off too easily. I then wiped it down with rubbing alcohol and it looks good now. The shield sits flush with the handle. I value your knowledge of these. I sure would like to know who made it and approximate date range. But I probably will never know. Oh well she is well built and I just dig her. Thanks skip! :) ::handshake::

You're welcome. It l👀ks good! ::tu:: I have NO extensive knowledge regarding knives. I'm just going by my experience with my knives. You should be safe in saying that your knife was made by Camillus or Schrade. Date range?, I'll go out on a limb and GUESS 1950's - 1960's???? More than likely I'm wrong. You should post your question in the Schrade forum. Maybe someone there has the answers that you seek.
