What is Your Latest Old Schrade?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I believe you have a legitimate Schrade USA Straight Razor there! An excellent example at that! I remember reading about them some time ago and unfortunately, I have not been successful finding one myself. There is a member here that has one that is Gold etched and a beauty as well.

Definitely Taylor and I'd be happy to take it off your hands for a couple dollars :D
.
.
Kidding aside - that's a legit Schrade Cut Co 158-S, and good lawd look at the condition it's in! Even if it's had a little work done, it still has the etch showing! Blade, handle and bolsters are all correct. That's a helluva find. Congrats! ::tu::

Just in is this schrade cut co made shapleigh diamond edge 3 1/2'' stockman. Unfortunately the main has been tipped but it's a pretty good oldie other than that. A couple of small issues with the bone. Used very little and has the factory edges. The spey was still sharp enough to point a toothpick I was using to clean old dried glue out of the jigging. I am trying to get into the schrade made shapleigh DE's more heavily as I really like the branding.

3 1/4 inches closed, half stops, hard snaps, good ebony and pretty dirty. Probably a 2252. By the 1926 catalog they had gone to a crescent nail pull, if this is indeed the same knife. The arched stamp means 1904 to maybe 1917, maybe 1920. I will clean this up just a little and carry it around a bit. It is obviously not a safe queen but fairly uncommon to see nowadays.

I'll stick this Buffalo Cutlery Co. In here if nobody objects.Early Schrade peachseed bone and diamond shield.I have had a few Buffalo Cuts and all have been Schrade made and with a Diamond shield and most had a DE pattern#.I don't know if Buffalo had any connection to Diamond Edge or not,but they shared some history. This knife has some very faint remaining pattern # but is not readable.
