Gun Show Booty

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Gun Show Booty

Made a nice find at a local gun show yesterday. I've seen this original Old Timer by Schrade a few times on line, but it was nice to bump into one at a show. Even nicer to get to slip it in my pocket and EDC it the rest of the day. It isn't perfect, but it will do. It has a great bone, the knife function is excellent, half stops on the clip blade. Hairline on the back bottom pin. Best part was, I was able to trade for it.

Pretty cool Schrade, circa 1959.

You done good congrats . Was that the little old blind lady at the front of the entrance who had a cup of pencils and that knife who was asking people for can goods so that she could eat I had heard some one gave her a can of peachs for the knife and a pencil. I sure hope you have a sense of humor I am just joking I am sorry and do not mean to offend. Seriously that is a dandy I wish you only the best with it. Every so often as we amble through this vice of ours something like that pops up and it is even sweeter having it happen that way. Use it in good health. LT

LT she was there, though not blind. Sitting in an old tube nylon folding lounger near the nacho stand, dressed in camo overalls with a built in 2 liter drink holder (Diet Pepsi), old Army helmet and combat boots, had a brass spitoon and chewed some plug tobacco. Bad varicose veins.

Selling imitation Tanto knives, reading a Louis L'Amour novel, and had a sign stating she need to make enough money to get back to Arkansas to visit her crippled grandson. I did not bite. I did not have my camera either dang it.

And yes, the 2OT will be a fun knife to own, because it has a story to go along with it.
