We have a local guy that is well know in the community as a knife collector. He just turned 91 and entered into assisted living. He agreed to go without putting up a fuss, his only condition was that he be allowed to take some of his knives with him. I was told he gets them out every afternoon and polishes them up. Over time knives become far more than sharp objects. They contain many memories and each and every one tells a story. A man could do far worse than play with his knives.

Spot on Bob!

6383, that is a fine tray of knives to photograph.

I think we all like to play with our knives once in awhile or we wouldn't have so many.

Great post, with which we can all identify, and great lineup of knives.

Just Bob, that was an enjoyable little read that you posted.

LOL....
Didn't your MOMMA tell you not to play with sharp things?

I guess it's OK to play with 'em.... just DON'T RUN with 'em!

When I was into 35 mm photography, my wife used to say playing with my cameras.

It is good to look at your collection. You can see if anything needs to be lubed or cleaned
before any permanent damage. It also reminds you what you have. When you get to be
my age you forget what you have.

If ya' don't pull your knives out and at least play with 'em, then what good are they?

Tell her playing is for kids. You are merely “curating the collection” like in any good art museum.
