Re: The "HATCH" cutlery company
Joe, that's a very nice knife, I'm not so sure the pen has worn that way or the previous owner decided they would rather have a punch, I have a Lawton in my collection where the pen looks just like the one on your knife.

Thank you, John.
I have a few others in this same shape too. I think this one was sharpened this way.

Nice one Joe and kudos to Jerry.
I just noticed that uniquely jigged English jack of John's, excellent, I would have bought it for the bone .

This is the only Hatch I've been able to find. Never was able to purchase it, but was given to me for Christmas by my friend that wouldn't sell it to me. What can you say but thank you,I was speechless!!!
It is 3" in length.

Re: The "HATCH" cutlery company
Bill, your friend values your friendship very much.
What a treasure that knife is.
Although I haven't seen very many Hatches, that is the cleanest one I have seen.

Re: The "HATCH" cutlery company
Heres a Hatch that I just came across. Looks just like the pattern earlier in this thread. If you click the photos they orient correctly.

Nice Hatch
... certainly looks like the same exact knife on eBay right now as of this morning for $1000? ... definitely not a $1000 knife imo...

It is the same knife I asked the seller, I agree not a 1,000 knife imo for what it’s worth.

No wonder it looked familiar. The green background, a storm of a price...

Re: The "HATCH" cutlery company
I am very happy with this recent purchase of cutlery history. While it may not win any beauty contests, it is very solid with great snap and half stops. It shows some wear, but it was used and respected by someone, not used and abused.
I love old knives like this, and am quite happy to add it to my "wood pile".
