I bought a couple of cheapo knives on ebay. They are branded "Tested Sharp" by Rough Rider. I could not believe how sharp these knives were.
You could literally shave with them. I believe they would split a hair 4 ways.
I am wondering what kind of machine they use for sharpening. I know as cheap as these knives sell for they surely don't hand hone them.
I can take a fairly sharp knife, try to touch it up a little and it will end up so dull that you could ride to town on it.
I really would like to know their secret...do they use a machine or what?

I don't know what they do but, you're right they are very sharp and the quality has gone up in the last couple years. Same story with Steel Warrior through Frost Cutlery, darn sharp, rockwell tested to 56-58. The saddlehorn I have is a very nice knife and I hear that there are some improvements in the works for Steel Warrior. The next ones are supposed to be better than ever and they make decent carriers now.
