Willy, some great looking knives!
I wonder how close the "grooved honey bone" handles are to the old Winterbottom bone?

I got a couple real nice onces in the pos trade.
The swiss army knife look not bad, lots of live left in it. Just needs a cleaning then it's good to go.
The caseXX is really nice! Perfect carry and nice bone to boot!

Thank you Tom, Ultra, Mark, Gary, and Philip. Glad you enjoy them
.
"How close are the "grooved honey bone" handles are to the old Winterbottom bone?", I would different, more refined gigging/textured, if you get my meaning. I like the feel/look of them much more then the older Winterbottom jigging, Queen perfected their jigging techniques in the early 90's, and it shows on this one perfectly. Hope that makes sense.
Last 2, but surly not the least!
A Vintage Robert Class, Solingen Germany, Kissing Crane whittler and congress, boht done up in beautiful fiery mop. These are 2 gorgeous vintage pieces of cutlery. I'm totally hooked on kissing cranes now, I hope my pics show why.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Got this little Bulldog Brand in the mail today. Both blades are stamped with the fighting bulldogs on the mark side with HAND MADE below the image. On the pile side is 440 (1st line) Stainless (2nd line). So does this make it a 1st generation or am I getting that mixed up? Most likely the latter, but I would like to hear from those who are more familiar with this brand. It was made in China. UPDATE: Now I'm starting to think this is one of Frost's brand, but it's not stated anywhere on the knife or the box.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Dave, I hope you find your Bulldog to be satisfactory for you. The identifications of BDs by generation only applies to the German made and finally some American made (GEC or Queen)BDs. You can learn about the generations on the Bulldog thread. Personally, I have found knives of exceptional quality in every generation. However, the first generation are most desired and often the most expensive. One of the reasons is simply that they are, well, the first.
I have been unable to discover the current owner of the brand. It might be Frost,Taylor Brands, or even Smokey Mountain. If the Chinese made are of the quality of Rough Rider or Marbles for example, then they will be very practical as users. At this point, I feel it is fair to say there is no collector interest in the China made BDs.
I would be interested in knowing your experience with your China made BD.
