Excel Cutlery had a very concise history of the company and told how to tell which ones are authentic and which ones are not. It was very helpful information. Many that I have looked at over the years were not from the Weidmannsheil plant which closed in 1991, these two are authentic.
Just one of these caught my eye but when I saw they had 2 different ones, I had to have them both. I like these locking knives a lot.
One of my buddies gave me this one for my birthday a few years ago. Can you tell if it's genuine?
Looks 100% authentic to me. One of the tell tell signs is if there is a date on the back of the blade, then it isn’t authentic. I don’t see a date and the tang stamp, shield and construction look spot on. Nice knife.

Quick Steel wrote: Fri Jan 31, 2020 5:39 pm This interesting knife came from Thailand. The handle is composed of alligator and buffalo horn. Unknown wood beneath the gator.
The steel in the blade is unknown. Comes with a golden thumb stud. Lots of file work on the blade, spine and liners. The liners appear to be steel and are highly polished. I've always liked the scimitar pattern and find this to be an elegant interpretation.

Two more recent arrivals. The Bulldog, from Kennedy Knives is all that a traditional pocket knife should be. Superb fit and finish on this. A real gem. The second knife, from sharpenshiny knives who also provided the Thai knife shown above, is a Remington Canoe. This knife is very well made plus it adds a bit of bling with its nicely engraved and gold bolsters.

Good looking cutlery everyone. ::tu::

Today, my trip to the post office produced this Imperial "Deer Head" camping/scouting style pocket knife. I gave it the once over, took some pictures and here it is.

Love that picture Ken!
Here’s another eBay purchase for my hobo collection. Omega cutlery Germany, possible Bakelite crack-free handles, great snap, stainless. It came pretty clean, I only buffed out some surface scratches. Not sure how old this one is, if anyone has an idea please weigh in.

Here is a vintage Imperial fix blade. It is a very light little belt knife. I can't identify the date of the tang stamp. Anyone out there might have an idea hold old this one is?

Today, my trip to the post office produced these two pocket knives. Another Imperial "Longhorn Steer Head" for the zoo. I also acquired another Craftsman 9494, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler." Each received a minor, gentle cleaning. I took some pictures and here they are.

Great lookin knives fellers, I like em' all .
Mail call for me today, 4 extremely knice knives I traded for.
First to start the show, A Schatt & Morgan (File and Wire Series), grooved honey bone, camper style.
This is one beaut of a knife, I couldn't be more pleased. And it's not one of the newer ones, no, it's a 1993 model, Pattern No. 0642SK. Even the box end label survived in excellent condition. You know how hard it is to find an early s&m camper, this one totally hit me out of the blue, was not expecting it to be an early model.
Made my day, and then some, and were only getting started folks!

Next in line to the throne  , a vintage Edge Brand Solingen German, model 464 stag skinner, in remarkably excellent condition.
Sheath front needs a bit of a clean, and oiling, but other then that, knife and sheath are beauties.
Thing that strikes me the most is how light the skinner is, the steel they used is sure something, nothing like vintage german steel IMHO.
Fit and finish is all-round excellent for a "cheap" vintage fixie. Stag is top grade, some beautiful stuff to look at and hold. Blade is factory edge, looks to have been a safe queen all theses years.
Another winner in my book.
Willy :D
