Here is a very nice minty knife likely made in the 1950's or '60's: 3 1/4" slender stockman, jigged bone, Premier/Life Time K55/Germany. I don't know which German manufacturer made these for Premier but all of them are beautifully made knives. By 1970's Premier knives were made in Japan, still of excellent quality. This is a very nice little knife. A collector's treat.

Sort of a late Christmas gift, to myself. Lanny's clip by J.D.Chancellor.
At 4 1/2 inches closed, it has good solid half stops and is a solid knife.

Thanks dlr. Part of the appeal of Premier knives for me is because these were sold in Eastern Canada and N/E USA when i was a young fellow. I was likely about 20 when i first encountered Premier knives but i think they had been available for a decade or more. And it's distribution was regional, not sold in other parts of Canada or USA.

New Bowie added to my collection (Pal Brand "Hunters Pal" circa 1930) bought from AAPK's btrwtr. The F.A. Bower stag with the Fed. shield bought a few weeks ago from Scott (Triple Three) and the other two (Marbles and Hoffritz) have been hanging around for a while but just made for a better picture.____Dave

kj, after reading your post I started thinking. This is a knife from a local police department that was given to me. As you can see on the blade it Premier Knives. If this is the same company I guess they also have a lot of different styles. Thanks for sharing!

Heinrick Kaufmann & Sohne is a long established German cutlery manufacturer that had a trademark of a K on either side of "55", with the K on the right side facing backwards. On this Premier knife there is only one "K", but the "55" does seem to suggest Kaufmann as the manufacturer.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
My daily trip to the post office directly produced two items and indirectly, a third item. The first two items, a Camillus box for pattern 40 pocket knives and a Craftsman (pattern 9494), 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. A friend of mine found the third item on the floor of her restaurant. She waited a few days to see if it would be claimed, it wasn't. She gave it to me today. It's a Kershaw, "SPEEDSAFE" USA, single blade folder. My first Kershaw knife and I know absolutely nothing about it (I posted it in the Kershaw Knife Forum also).

Made in the USA, that's good. I don't recognize that pattern (nor most of the Kershaws). The pattern number is usually etched on the pile side of the blade.

I like those Craftsman's. Alone the name is cool on them! That one would make an awesome EDC in my opinion!
