Hello,
I have a Remington R1613 with a circular Remington sheild on the handle. All of the pictures I've ever seen of this knife show it have a bullet sheild. The bolsters are in great shape and it appears that the knife hasn't been tampered with.
I'd put a picture up but I'm not sure how to do so.
Any thoughts?
Steve

Hi MarblesMan,
In Jim Sargent's American Premium Guide to Knives and razors, it says that the R1613 knife was made with a bullet shield and a cartridge shield. The Bullet knife has BL at the end of the pattern number while the cartridge shielded knife does not. I'm not sure what is meant by a cartridge shield, but perhaps yours has one? Sargent lists the bullet knife at $6,000 and the cartrige knife at $1,200.
