I'm not a Case collector, as I've said before, but I enjoy learning about these patterns from you folks.
The sad thing I see, is that it is a nice knife, and could have been sold on it's own merits...instead of some slime trying to deceive and pass it off as what it's not.
JMHO.

Here is one thing I did and the only time I did it. I posted a knife in the counterfeit watch that was advertised as a Bulldog Brand knife when in fact it was really a Pakistan.
The post is: http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... php?t=1215 and I sent a couple of emails to the seller explaining why his knife was not a Bulldog with pictures of the same knife and lets just say the guy's attitude pissed me off.
So, what I did was to contact the buyer when the auction was over and supplied my photo's and a link to my post. The buyer was grateful but seemed embarassed, he thought he was buying a rare Bulldog Brand knife. He was worried about getting his money back and I wrote him to let him know that I had contacted the seller and told the seller that the knife was not a Bulldog, in fact a Pakistan, he got his money back and they left each other positive feedback. The knife is re-listed as a Pakistan.
I don't recommend meddling in other people's business, it can create hard feelings all around and must be done with a great deal of diplomacy. I guess the seller's attitude just set me off. Think I'm on his Blocked List?

I like your style, and you are right about handling it tactfully also.

Hukk & Other Folks,
I might add:
I have seen some Seller's hide Bidder ID's for that reason also. You have that option if you sell on eBay. I see it more in the Antique's category.
I always use another ID for bidding and one for asking questions to keep from getting blocked. I also use a another ID for posting questions on any of eBay's Boards.
eBay will not do anything to stop it as long as they bring in big bucks or a VERo member/Copyright issue comes into play.
BTW: I got a little Bulldog Brand knife that eBay pulled, plus a tale to go with it. I will put it in the Bulldog thread soon.
And yes Hukk, I would say you were Blocked

About a year or two ago I started to refuse to buy anything from a seller that kept the bidders ID hidden and my selling preferences are to block all who keep their profile private. I do not see any reason for secrecy in a public auction.
I like to keep everything out in the open, hiding a bidders ID only protects the seller, not the buyer, I agree with 9ball 100%.
Use more than one ID, as long as eBay is raking in the $$$, nothing will change.
What was that Bulldog that was blocked, I had one that was blocked because it was tortoise shell celluloid, I left of the celluloid in the auction title but it was in the description.

I believe it and yet I have seen enough gun parts being sold to convert many civlian guns into fully automatic weapons. I even have a CD that shows how to make parts and covert dozens of weapons, how about a Remington 1100 12 guage automatic? I bought the CD because it was titled M1 Carbines and more. Well, it is mostly MORE. JMO, but eBay is a danger to National Security and could keep a terrorist well supplied. Just basing that on what I've actually seen in auctions. Sorry to be so far off topic but eBays policies popped up.
