A sad story of my ex- sister-in-law.........

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

A sad story of my ex- sister-in-law.........

Post by knife7knut »

Last night my son called from Mass. General Hospital to inform me that his cousin(and my nephew) Jessie had succumbed to injuries he had suffered at the hospital where he had resided.A bit of background:
He was born with a severe case of microcephaly in which the head is very small and as a result has very little brain capacity. Although Anne and her husband attempted to care for him at home for almost two years, too many medical complications resulted in him being lodged in a pediatric nursing home. And that was where he resided for the past 39 years until a fall while moving him resulted in a broken femur. The surgery was performed but he had a reaction to the anesthesia and died.
What made this story even more tragic is Anne had just recently buried her daughter(at the age of 49)who died of a drug overdose. And the fact that her first born son Danny who suffered from Hydrocephaly(spinal fluid escaping into the cranial cavity and causing the brain to not form)who died after only 26 days of life.
The problem was traced to a genetic defect peculiar to her family which was carried by the female members but only passed on to male offspring. My ex-wife(her sister)and I also had twins;the male born with microcephaly and the female who died in utero.
I would simply ask for some prayers to be said for my ex sister-in-law as I believe she is going to need a lot of them. Thank you for listening.

Very sad to learn of this tragedy Ray. I pray that the Lord may comfort her and grant her strength to persevere.

Praying for their peace and comfort.
Thank you for sharing. Sometimes that is harder to do in the case of an ex-spouse, and it says a lot about your character.
