Case xx 1981 K1051LSSP Shaw Leibowitz

Picked this up today locally. Cant find much on it. Someone said handles are sterling silver but they dont seem to be marked as such. Anybody seen 1? Or know anything about it. No completed sales on ebay as far as I can see.This is 235 of 300.

The handles are likely pewter that has been silver plated. The knife was likely made for a private company that bought the knives sans handles from Case and had Shaw-Leibowitz make and assemble them. I have a Case boot knife that has Marine Corps commemorative handles by them that was made for a company in Massachusetts many years ago. Here is a pic of it.

The OP knife was part of a set of two knives, the knives supplied by Case and customized by Shaw Leibowitz.

I had a set last year and sold it in 2019.

Below is the description that I wrote for my Ebay listing:

This a pair of CASE Shaw Leibowitz knives that were made in 1981 and were limited to 300 pieces of each handle type.
Each knife is a Case Model 051 lock blade knife. Stainless steel blade and backspring. Tang stamp is CASE XX USA "lightning S" with nine dots, designating 1981 as the production year.
The pattern number on each knife is K1051 L SSP. The "K" designates that these knives were shipped from Case as "skeleton" knives, without handles, to have the special handles applied by Shaw Leibowitz.
The artisan handles were made by the lost wax method for the Pennsylvania Tricentennial 1681-1981 by cutlery artists couple Shaw and Leibowitz.
Both knives have cast sterling silver handles (and so marked). One of the knives has a gold wash on the handle exterior. Other than that, they are identical.
Each knife has a matching serial number 098 of 300.
Knives are MINT, never used, smooth action and great lockup, no issues.
Each knife includes the original hardshell case, foam padded interior to store and display the knife. The original cardboard sleeves are also included.

Thanks Steve. I talked to the guy that I got it from and he only has this one. Do you recall where it was marked .925 or sterling. I cant find a mark on this one. I will look in completed sales at yours if I can find them.
