I can't help you with your request Tups, however from the price tag listed at: $20.00, I think you hit a "Home Run"

Cool! Is there a copyright date printed anywhere on the box?
Take care and God bless,

Old Folder. Good one. Yeah a round trip for sure. Thanks for looking. We haggled a bit and I got it for $12. It definitely improved my OPS. I’m a baseball fan and the little baseball badge appeals to me. It has a tiny bit of tarnish but otherwise unused and unsharpened. Possibly never removed from its packaging. I’m not a collector, nevertheless it Made my day.

Tups, that one scores high on the cool factor. I like baseball and knives and that one is really cool. Congrats on a great little pick up and a super price.

Steve Warden. Thanx for looking. No copyright date but the box has a barcode. The barcode and the printed graphics suggest it was made say after about 1980. I think that’s about when barcodes became common. I hope someone can pin down a better date. Not much on line info. But I’ll keep looking. Just very curious is all.

Old Folder. Thanx for the link and the recommendation. I am a little surprised by the asking price on the eBay item. Anyway I am the last living individual on the planet who does not have an eBay account so I can’t contact the seller. In any case it may be presumptuous to ask the seller about an item I have no intention of buying. Just my personal hang up. Thanks again for the info.

What exactly surprised you about the price? Too low or too high? Seems a little low to me. I bought one of these years ago and paid around $40 so I’d probably let mine go for twice that. One on eBay right now I think it’s over $90 obo.

Jdaddyrox: I just now saw your response from January. I apologize for that. To answer your question, I thought that a price over 20 was probably high but I’m not a collector so my impression was totally uninformed, nor could I find any info online. I was surprised following your eBay link to find a seller asking 98, which I concede may be more in line with actual value for the set.
Anyway, you say you purchased the same set some years ago for 40. Did you buy it new, and can you recall what year that was? I am still curious about the age of the set. Thank you for any help you might offer.

Re: Schrade Baseball Collectors Edition
Tups...
From what I've found at the below site, the 834UH Rancher first came out in 1991 with an original price of $28.95. It went up in price a little bit each year through 95. ($32.95) Mind you...this is the price of the knife 'only', not your baseball set. If one was to logically presume, one could figure your 'special' baseball set originally sold for $35.00 to $45.00.
Hope this helps...
