What is Your Latest Old Schrade?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

The last digit is the handle material and I think yours is plastic so it would be C2154-3/4AC, but typically the AC knives were smooth. I don't know that there was ever a digit for jigged/molded plastic. Maybe someone else will know ::shrug:: .

I think you are right about the number C2154-3/4AC. I noticed that one side of the main blade is crocus polished while the other side has a not so polished finish.

Don't think I posted this celluloid Cut Co Stockman here yet, not showing much use.

Thanks for taking the time to post your oldies!

It took me over ten years to land a near-mint 1946 Fortune magazine knife at an affordable price.

Later that day, I bought the original December 1946 Fortune magazine for the ad. "Crisp, not read" condition. The only damage is on the front cover.

Paul and John, those are both magnificent cells. I just got an old 880 Kon-Kav, with a marvelous convex job by the previous owner-- super sharp!

All those end of the year finds are awesome! I was able to find one more as well with more staining and scuffing than actual use.

That's a great moose. Mooses are not an often seen pattern by schrade ''in the wild'' but there are a few variants listed in the old catalogs.

Here is a rarity; a schrade walden 884 4'' stockman with genuine stag handles from the factory. It has been well used with honest blade wear but doesn't seem to have been abused and is nice and tight with good snap. The vintage stag looks great and it has coined nickel silver liners. I might make an EDC out of this old dandy. Thanks for hooking me up Roger. ::tu::
