From Teebox to Showcase

Post by TPK »

Hi Knife Friends,
Been working on turning a Teebox we had around the house into my first knife showcase. It's gonna take me a while to get all the pictures in here the way I want and everything. Once I get everything the way I want it, I'll come back in and finish the written part.

So I got all my pics posted that I wanted. Hope ya'll enjoy the views. I'm sure I'll be adding more knives and some more decorations to the showcase as time goes by. Maybe some pins and some coins and any other cool stuff I can find. Some flatbed railroad cars as knife holders.

I really like the look of your display case! Go ahead and post more pictures in your next post if you need to.
I like the way you took something that was not being used in made it useful and attractive at the same time! ::tu:: ::tu::
Out of curiosity, whose dogtags did you put on the display case, are they yours?

Anything that let's you enjoy things that you collect a little more is a good thing. I love it when people follow through with their ideas and it looks like you have done a great job. Show us some more when you are done.

That’s really cool! I particularly like the flatbed holder.
You’re right about the dark exterior and light interior drawing the eye in. I’ve got to remember that.

Thanks everyone for all the friendly comments. ::handshake:: In the time I was working on my first little showcase, Mothersday came around. I asked my wife what she would like to have for Mothersday and she said she would like some bathing salt or bathing oil or something in that general catagory. Well..., look what I came across. ::tu::

Boy, Dale. You have a sharp eye. Took me about 3 or 4 trips through to spot the dog tags. Good show old chap.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'll start working on getting another one painted & ready for use over the holidays. ::tu:: They don't accommodate that many knives ( 3 - 5 per shelf depending on the angle ) but I like how they look and they are cheap & easy to make. Plus you can be a little creative when decorating them. ::tu::

Tom, there's a bike trail called the Great Allegany Passage that runs from Cumberland to Connellsville and on to Pittsburgh, mainly using the old WMRR railbed from Frostburg on. C&O 1309, a true 2-6-6-2 coal burner, was supposed to be ready in 2017, but due to mismanagement and employee theft it's completion has stalled. If finished it will be magnificent, I keep hoping for good news. The often photoed 734 was retired a few years ago due to boiler concerns and they have a WMRR diesel making the runs from Cumberland to Frostburg.
