Knife stores to visit when traveling.

If you know of knife places worth visiting while traveling or on vacation, post them here for others to see. (I'm in Orlando right now and plan to visit Randall Knives. Are there any other interesting knife or tool places I should see?) How could we sort such a list by state/city or does such a list already exist?

This place is pretty cool depending on what you like. You won't find very many vintage knives there but they stock a lot of other types and brands. Anything you see on their website can be seen in the store.

If your driving north on Interstate 30 toward Little Rock, AR you have got to stop in Bryant. You will find some good places to eat, but most of all you will find 32,000 square feet of antiques at the Cotton Shed Vintage Market. Formally known as the Blue Suede Shoes it is loaded with items from over 400 dealers, you will spend hours in this wonderful store. St. Mary's Antique Mall in St. Mary, MO. is hands down my favorite mall to shop when I'm in this area. It's a day trip because it's about 70 miles south of St. Louis and is located between I-55 and the Mississippi River. I have spent all day in this 77,000 square foot mall with 450 display booths and 225 showcases. Located in Rollo, MO on Dillon Outer Road off I-44 you will find the Mule Trading Post. Now I don't know about antiques, but if you need a gift, souvenir, or Route 66 memorabilia, folks you have hit the jackpot! I'm listing them because they have a huge selection of knives and there was a kindly old trader there that could tell you anything about knives. First Monday Trade Days:
In Canton, TX is possible the largest and oldest flea market/trade days in North America. Beginning on the courthouse square in the 1850's the First Monday Trade Days now operates on over 100 acres and supports more than 6,000 vendors. There is indoor and outdoor booths, permanent and temporary vendors. You can spend two days going through all the buildings and displays and a lot of people do and they park in the adjoining RV park or local hotels. Knife collectors if you don't find a knife for your collection here I don't know what to tell you. There is something for everyone of all ages at First Monday Trade Days. Sorry about that Dale, guess I thought as much as we discuss the Webster flea mkt. Every body knew it was about 40 west of Orlando Fla. Now that's as the crow flys, by road it's somewhat longer.

If you're ever passing through the Pigeon Forge area in Tennessee you'll have to visit Smoky Mountain Knife Works (SMKW). Great store and even greater are the walls displaying collections. It's like a museum.

I went to their annual event, and frankly it stunk IMO. Anyhow, this rascal has a Wal-Mart size Case Knives offering....it is truly impressive.

In Pa and traveling on Rt 78 in the eastern part, stop at Cabela's. A great display of current Case knives, a Master Dealer. Stop at the factory if in Bradford.

Cabela’s no longer exists. They (the entire chain) was bought out by Bass Pro. I used to shop there a lot. Hated to see them go.

Cabelas was indeed bought by Bass Pro but They have retained the Cabelas name and are still operating a huge retail Cabelas store in Hamburg Pennsylvania with lots of knives.

Also “Country Knives” Is a knife retailer with an awesome showroom in Gordonville Pennsylvania, near Lancaster.

50 or so miles east of Cincinnati, in Ripley Ohio is Eagle Valley Cutlery on US Hwy 52.They recently moved into a new,larger location.

I spent about 3-hrs. here when I was on Vacation in Maryland. Picked up 5 or 6 things. Two of which were pocket knives. An Imperial & a Remington. They have tons of stuff & I'll visit it again sometime if I get the chance.

Just north of Fort Worth, TX is a hugh Cabelas. My young g'kids and I love to go there because of all the stuffed wild animals. I like the antique guns, but of course I don't have that kind of money. Don't know how large other stores are, but this one has a 230,000 sq. ft. showroom plus the restaurant, classrooms, offices and stockrooms. Outside they provide a park, jogging trail and a 5 acre lake with fishing piers and boat launch. Depending on circumstances they might have shuttle carts running back and forth in the parking lot. I'm guessing, but I think most of all their stores are about the same design.
