Favorite Tang Stamps

Post by Bfeldman »

Tang stamps are one of my favorite parts about knives. I love how stamps or other makers marks to help us identify and date our knives. And some stamps are works of art in their own right. I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found a thread of favorite stamps, so post them here. I’ll start with one of my all favorites, from Gebruder Berns:

This is definitely one of my favorite tang stamps (they go together so well). A "short line" CAMILLUS NEW YORK USA, pattern 72 (the first two pictures).
I'm adding another tang stamp as well. Not because of it's artistic merits, but because it's an oddity. It's a SCHRADE WALDEN N.Y. U.S.A., pattern 766, but it's also stamped KINGSTON U.S.A. (the last three pictures).

It is such a wonderful knife and the knife I carry with me most days. It’s slim, has a good sized blade, beer bottle opener. I misplaced it for a bit and went looking for a replacement but I couldn’t find one anywhere. Luckily it turned up again. Felt like Christmas when I saw it!

I do like that one. It’s the main reason I’ll pick up a Richards if the price is right.

I'll climb on that Coleman train. I'd also like to add the "Trustworthy" stamp.

Q, Jerry-I have to admit I hadn’t seen the Coleman one but it’s just perfect.

Semroc-I do like the Hammer stamp quite a bit too.
