The,"Knife Angel".....

Post by knife7knut »

Found this picture on the net awhile ago and thought I would post it for all to see. A sculpture made from(supposedly)100,000 knives that were turned in to the British government in their program to keep the streets of England safe. No other comment is necessary.

Certain modern art installations are an acquired taste, and honestly, I just don't get the looks of this one.

To me, law-abiding citizens turning in "weapons" does nothing but make matters worse. The UK has very strict weapons laws, but attacks such as the one a few days back are becoming more, and more commonplace over there. In my area, the majority of the population owns firearms (myself included). Pretty much all gun violence is linked to the drug trade and felons who supposedly should not have firearms by law. Yet, they think more laws solve the problem. I don't' think so.

I think that if I were going to violate the second commandment I’d do so with a lot better looking likeness than that! Looks more like a demon than an angel!

Historically, in art, Michael the Archangel preferred a spear. Much better for killing dragons.

A close look at the wings tells me that they're not only trying to keep the streets safe but the kitchens as well.

Not trying to get political but this is what our fellow knife enthusiasts in the U.K. have to deal with every day.

Just remember that Lucifer is a fallen angel - tells me what I need to know about government created angels. OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

I would wheel that "Knife Bank" right to my car, then get a set of bolt cutters and it's Christmas!

I was thinking the same thing. I mean, two chains and locks on a plastic garbage can w/wheels. ::facepalm:: A battery operated saws-all would make short work with that lid.
