Keen Kutter info?

Hey gang!! havent been hee in a while. Ive still got the peanuts and havenet updated my site in a while of the recent ones Ive gotten, but anyway

Ive been into Keen Kutter knives a little lately. Ive got 5 I think now. Well there was one that I won recently that had an unusual sheild I did see much. When it came I got out the reading glasses "AND" the magnifying glasses LOL and found it said "Shepleigh" on the shield. The book I have says K10 is a 1959 model, but I suspect my book isnt speaking of the Shepleigh Keen Kutters.

Info would be appreciated.

Actually, I'd say you are about right. Shapleigh Hardware owned the Keen Kutter TM from 1940, until they went out of business in 1960. More recently, I think Parker may have ended up with the TM, but I'm not 100%.

Knifeaholic is good at these kind of brands...maybe he, or someone else, will check in with some more information for you.

Here is a modern one ('80s??) that looks like it might have been made by Bear (for Parker??).

That one was definitely made by Camillus, circa 1950's to 1960's. After Shapleigh went under in 1960, a company called Val-Test bought the trademark, and Camillus continued to make the knives. I don't know when that ended but probably early to mid 60's. Frost Cutlery ended up with the trademark, and Bear has made some knives for them, incluidng the stag one posted.
