Henckels 3 blade #1919

Post by annthorsen »

I- have not been able to find this knife from between the 1960-1970 era. I have had it in storage since 1983 and am selling my late husband's pocket. knives. Any identification and/or value I would greatly appreciate. Am enclosing pictures. 1919 is on the back side of the large blade. Closed length is 4" and is brass and maybe walnut
Thank you,
Ann

Hi Ann and welcome to the forum.

J.A. Henckels knives are very collectible. They are very high quality made knives. My initial thought when looking at the one pictured though is that it is not an original Henckels. To me it looks like a Pakistan made knife. Others on the forum may have a different opinion.

Just what I see in the knife by the pictures you have posted.

Regards,

Doug

Hi Ann and welcome to the forum.
I’m afraid I agree with Doug that does not look like any Henckels knife I have ever seen.
Can you get a larger, clearer picture of the tang stamp? The Henckels tang stamp is very distinctive and from what I can see of that tang stamp it doesn’t look like Henckels logo.

I just saw this knife on Worthpoint. The header says 2 blade but a 3 blade is shown and it says 3 blade Stockman in the description. This was posted in 2014 and, of course, you cannot get a price without subscription. There's is in mint condition and mine is not. I would say that this was hubby's favorite knife as it has much more wear than any of his 30+ knives and I have inspected all of them.
Thank you for looking into this and if you ever see a used one sold I would love to hear about it.
Thanks again,
Ann
