While not exactly a bomb as he asked me first if I would like to have it, never the less a wonderful gift. One of his early re-handle jobs that he was not pleased with the shield. He noticed that I like Old Cutler brand so asked if I would like to have it. Got it today and what a great gift. My wife, who is not into knives asked why I didn't get more knives with such pretty handles. And I find nothing wrong with the shield. A very knice gift from a generous giver. Thanks Jeff(inn)

Well, I now own a Chinese knife - my first and only one. Went to the mailbox today and found some anonymous soul “bombed” me with a nice Rough Rider whittler. I suspect because of my recent somewhat adamant stance about having no interest in Chinese knives.

Whoever you are, thank you! It’s a well made knife.

I experienced the same thing a year or so ago. Received several RRs anonymously during that time. The Trapper was a real surprise, dressed a deer with it right out of the box, no need to touch it up all through process and even some other work. The RRs I was bombarded with were all pretty well made and I still love old USA made pocket knives!

Thanks to all who commented. Tom, you’re absolutely correct that our education is never over. Unfortunately perhaps I know too much about communist China’s business practices, having dealt with them for almost 30 years. My aversion has nothing to do with the quality of the product.

But I do very much appreciate the gesture, from whomever sent it.

I made an off comment the other day about not having a certain Camillus 72 variant and much to my surprise a certain 'forever Marine' guided an explosive device in my direction. Thank you Jerry for your generosity and the Powr-Kraft 84 11. I have the Sears copy but did not have the Wards one. A knife scratched off the list and filled with one with special meaning. And the crusty old leather neck even wished me Merry Christmas.
