Case xx 0624

I have a case knife with an odd number 0624. It has 7 dots below the U.S.A. that means 1973. The zero is extra, the 6 is the material, the 2 is the number of blades but the 4 makes no sence. According to the information, the 4 pattern was made in the 1940's. Is this a misprint? Any Ideas????

hi donna,

its hard to say for sure without a picture of the knife, but my best guess is that it is a 06247 pattern and that the 7 in the pattern number perhaps wore off or there could have been a missed lick when it was stamped. if you could post a picture of it, i could tell you for sure. anyway, hope ive helped.

The only two that come to mind that would be in production in 1973 are the 06244 (3-1/4" closed) and the 06247 (3-7/8" closed). There never was just an "0624". There was a 6104 in the Tested era.

Thanks so much. As I looked closer, with a magnifier and in the sun, I could see a very faint 7. I measured it and it was 3 7/8" closed. So I know exactly what it is. Both posts were very heplfull. Thanks so much for the prompt replies. Donna
