Scott, I count 14 knives, it would take me a month of weekend flea markets to come up with that around here. Good haul partner! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Ten dollar pickup at local pawn shop. Already had one but what the heck right. It will be a good user.

I've been telling my friends for a long time that pawn shops are a great place to look for knives.
I have a handful of them in my area that I check in on every few months and some of the guys even know me now when they see me pull into the parking lot. A big ::tu:: Scott

Nice knives! Both the Pal and the Schrade appear to be in really good condition. Most I see are in a lot poorer condition.

If you need a pocket clip for it (Schrade sold them as an accessory), I should have one around here somewhere from the pack of five (well, four--one was obviously not heat-treated and I don't use) factory leftover clips I bought when I picked up my CH-7. They slot right into the lanyard clip. These are really solid EDC knives--I have both the Viper and the Silhouette, which is a nice little backup size (about 3" closed). The Viper is a good EDC-sized folder.

Not a bad lot! All solid heavy user knives. Though, that candy stripe cell on the toothpick looks sketchy. You might want to get it rehandled.

Not in this town. Most don't handle knives and the ones that do only have a handful of Asian made knives. Very disappointing.

I thought that was the brand when I looked at it Scott. I don't know how you feel about it, but all I would do is clean any dirt and surface rust off of it and put it in my collection. I wouldn't alter that baby at all!

I LOOVE pawn shops/second hand stores! Especially the one in my town. Terry (the guy that owns it) is awesome to deal with, let's you walk around (snoop is more accurate term) as much as you want, even when he is out, no one watching the place! :shock:
Tons of great stuff (NO junk) and very reasonable prices. Will even work that too :D ::ds:: . Especially great place to buy super high end furniture cheap ::super_happy:: . Not cheap china Walmart slap together stuff, but custom, made in Canada pieces lots of times. I just dropped yesterday, and it's exactly as I said. I'm going to be picking up myself a nice display shelf for all my knives and collectibles that are spread from here to kingdom come :roll: :mrgreen: .
::tounge:: :lol:
I can pick up a mint (huge) solid pine display shelf/open cabinet for under $90 cdn. I kid you not! It's going to go perfectly in that bare space along me wall ::super_happy:: . Can't wait ::ds:: .

I was minding my own business helping my son tile his kitchen and not looking for knives. A friend called because he knew I was bummed out over my close friend that passed away this summer's knife collection that his daughter said was going with her to Seattle to be sold. I found out after the fact Dave's widow had an estate sale and sold them locally. Apparently not all sold because the friend that called me said there was another estate sale going on and about 4 or 5 hundred of Dave's knives was in the sale. I finished up the tile work and headed for the sale. I was with Dave when he bought many of these knives. I'm not even going to think about what got picked out of the collection before I got to pick through what was left. For a little over $20 each, I got 17 knives. Starting at top left, first picture: A Friedmann & Lauterjung near mint (I believe ivory, possibly smooth bone,)Jack, a Honk Falls Balloon jack, a Robeson bone cattle, a Union bone whittler (the only knife in only fair shape), A Schrade Cut. bone jack, a Henry Sears and son ebony whittler, a Thomas Mfg. Co. Dayton Ohio mint fancy coffin jack, a Eagle Phila jack, a Bulldog bone gunstock. Top Right: A Remington R3193, a Maher Grosh bone jack with double pulls, a LF&C stag whittler (probably rehandled but beautiful) A Robt Klaas bone cattle, a Camillus 4 line jack, a Ulster farmers jack, a Enderes cattle in bone, and a Brantford jack. That was fun. I wish I had about a thousand more to blow on knives but I'm not going to think about what I had to leave behind either. ____Dave
