I need to get more knives so I can start keeping an inventory! I had started this with my gun collection, but never completed the project. One day I'll get back around to it.

I wrote a small Microsoft Access application.
It works pretty well, the queries help track down things I've forgot.
My next task is to take pictures of all my knives and add them to the app. ::uc::

It’s kind of funny, but I guess my inventory is the Finds of the Day. I should just screenshot all my posts! I think every knife I own has been posted, with a picture. Since the kids know all about AAPK, all they’d have to do is come in and look through my posts.

I've got started on it again and again only to give up.

At least one thing, compared to my model car collection, my knife collection is tiny. And I've got to start cataloging it as well. And when you get into complicated things like variations and the like--it can be tricky.

I too keep a Inventory of my knives but I do not have the volume most seem to collect. I try to collect only Official Scout knives. I keep inventory based on Manufacturer and Scouting organization for Official Scout knives and by Manufacturer for a few Non Official Scout Knives. All knives are labeled using a numbering system similar to Kerr's in 600 Scout Knives and added to a spreadsheet. I also cheat Like ESPN77 said but I use 600 Scout Knives by Kerr and Official Scout Blades by Ed Holbrook and mark off each knife I collect. Scout Knives not in the books and Non Official Scout knives are also assigned a number and description and added to the spreadsheet that all the knives are listed in. I have begun to photograph each knife and label the pictures with the Knife's number tag. Hopefully when the day comes that my family has to dispose of my collection they will have a inventory to guide them.

I’ve kept up with Buck Knives pretty well for the last ten years, but just began working on my other knives (had a folder and a couple of envelopes full of receipts and notes to wade through). I’ve finished Case and Schrade now (quite a job) need to move on to Imperial, Camillus, Ulster, Remington, Western, GEC, Ka-Bar, etc. However Buck, Case, and Schrade make up about 80% of my knives I’d guess. Just doing it pen and ink on notebook paper. OH

Keith, I very impressed and it looks like your app is exactly what I wanted when I started getting a lot of knives. Is it possible and if so how would I get a copy of the application?
