Hello,

This week was awesome for me. Picked up two Imperial Irland's off the bay. And my mom sent me two Case's I had parked at her house. One with Flag Shield & one of my very special knives... ::groove:: a 1972 Case Sod Buster Jr. I got from a very kind treefarmer. ::super_happy:: Thanks Philip!!! ::handshake:: ::tu:: ::super_happy::

I will try to post them again in the appropriate threds when time allows. Is there a thread for Hawkbills or Garden knives???

Oh and my first ever tube of Flitz.

Take care & have a good'un,
Tom

Nice Tom. Those Sodbusters look incredible after you polish up that big brass pin. I use Simichrome and find I love making knives look shiny and new. Actually that is a big reason I am Sharpnshinyknives.
Looks like a nice haul.

Today the mailman brought me a backyard weather station and a knife.
The knife is from Japan. One side of the tang is
STAR
Hand Crafted
and on the other side is
3358 B
440 Stainless Japan
The knife is clean and in excellent condition.
BTW the weather station is going to be a Christmas gift for my son. Their house is set on a hill in the country and is the highest elevation in the area. Thought it would be nice for him to know what the weather was just on his hill.

From what I can tell right off hand is that it is a very usable EDC knife. Believed to be late 70's, no major issues with the appearance. The etching on the blade and the tang stamping is still very clear. The walk/talk is very good. When the blade is open it is very secure and when you close it the snap is clear and firm sounding. I believe it to be a very soundly made knife, but I have no way of knowing how it would be over time if used daily. All I do is collect and display them in my home and webpage so it will be a fine addition.

Nice score Skip! I'm going to work on a set of Imperials. I will try to get at least 1 from each country they were produced in.
Till now I've been told they were made in the USA, IRLAND, MEXICO & ENGLAND. I have 2 from the US & now 2 from Irland. ::tu::

Great pickups fellars, especially all those Imperials you have been finding Skip ::tu:: . It's getting kind of tough to find em' in that kind of condition, good on ya mate ::tu:: .
Todays mail roll, just 1 lowly (not) GEC. A 1 of 35 #61 Green Jigged Bone, back from 2011. Included was a really nice black leather knife slip ::super_happy:: . So far the #61 has been my favorite knife pattern of all, same story with the snakewood version I got earlier, super awesome knives ::ds:: .

Ooops! In German it's spelled without the E. Sorry. Thanks for the link but I have to cut back my spending for a while. I'm getting in over my head with knife spending. ::doh:: The two Ireland's I bought were a lot cheaper. Like 10 or 12€ shipped. ::tu:: ::super_happy::

Picked up this USA knife from Cosgrove Cutlery (bestgear) recently. I believe it to be a WW2 vet. Steel liners and bolsters. The screw driver blade is damaged on the end but a lot of vets came back with a little damage. I did find its picture in Silvey's book on Pocket Knives of the United States Military. Thanks Tom for a great little knife.
