BOMBS AWAY!!! THE UN-OFFICIAL OFFICIAL BOMB THREAD

I've been delayed in making this post because of internet access issues that have kept me offline for most of the past couple of weeks. (Hey didn't anybody miss me? ) I wanted to share with everyone what a wonderful "bomb" I recieved from two of our esteemed members. This one has a little back story with it so please bear with me as I explain.

Back in the July monthly knife giveaway RalphAlsip donated a beautiful stag Case trapper which was won by doglegg who had picked the number 763. The pick three number was 780 so doglegg was the closest without going over. We all celebrated his good fortune and Jerry's generosity. Now I almost always use 771 as my pick each month. For some reason I failed to pick a number for this July drawing so I missed the boat on this beauty. Later in a discussion I mentioned the fact I'd failed to enter the drawing, but thought no more of it.

Fast forward a couple of months and a package arrives in the mail from Grand Prairie, Texas. Inside is that same magnificent Case trapper I had failed to win back in July along with the note shown in the accompanying photos. To say I was stunned would be quite an understatement. It appears that Floyd and Jerry (doglegg and RalphAlsip) had conspired on this bombing mission and I can attest to the fact they blew me right out of the water with this one.

Thank you Floyd for your kindness and thank you Jerry for your generosity and willingness to go along with this devious plot.

Phil, those (like yourself) who are on here every day and seldom miss, become part of the scenery or should I say the wallpaper for the AAPK Forum and sad to say are not missed when they are gone for an extended length of time. That's no offense to you or any of the other regulars, it's just the way it is. It just goes unnoticed.

I think it speaks to the character of the membership and especially Floyd and TX-Jerry when something like this happens. Congratulations on that fine piece of cutlery joining your pile and way to go Floyd for thinking of it and making the offer and TX-Jerry for agreeing to it.

I have been having a rough stretch lately and I don’t like to whine, moan, groan or in general aggravate anyone with my misfortune. Not complaining the Lord has blessed/is blessing me and my family daily. I am thankful for my friends here at AAPK and my friends in general. Well to my point it makes me feel good to drop a bomb every once in a while so I have and I hope to do more, but today I was blasted with a bomb from my good friend Woodwalker and his lovely wife. Kevin & Anita you guys are awesome. I received a super nice Golden Spike today via the USPS. Pictures to follow. I am smiling and will be smiling. Have a wonderful night and enjoy the pictures. I got a nice notice from the post office, informing me that treasure awaited. Off I went.
When I opened the package, from very far away, this old soldier marched out.
According to the enclosed note, he’s a British Army issue, 1943. Best part, he’s a Richards!

If the Bomber would like to step up, I’d very much like to say thank you!

Needless to say, I’m delighted!

I would swear I've seen the mark that's on the shield somewhere before but for the life of me, can't remember where. In addition to that, he sent along a candy bar that looks like a SAK.
