Y'all having problems with AAPK ???

Post by Meridian_Mike »

I was having problems last week and (I hope) this post goes thru.

I am not getting notices of posts in subscribed threads.

I can't "click" on a thread and have it load the first time. I have to click "reload" and then it will come up.

Just frustrating.......

:(

LOL.....
I just noticed my avatar changed sides...... it's on the right (position) side now..... not "right" as in correct.....LOL

Mike, Bryan has changed servers and done some updates and we all are experiencing some problems. I'm sure it is consuming to Bryan as well. Hang in there. Sorry for Bryan for all this extra work. Makes you appreciate AAPK that much more.

10-4....

I'm sure everyone is having the same problems I am. I guess I just needed to get a little reassurance.

Hang in there Bryan... I don't want to be part of the problem.... I'll just shut up and wait.

Great news, I received an email about doglegg's answer to Mike's post.
This is the first email notification I have received since the server change.
It looks like Bryan is making progress!! ::ds::

And a tiny sampling but it seems faster and more stabile this morning.

Edit: Oops. Spoke too soon. A larger sampling shows weird stuff still happening. Sorry I can't describe it. A lot of it seems to have something to do with loading the pages. ::shrug::

Been having a lot of problems loading the site from an Apple or iPad device. I'm sure they are working very hard to iron out all the glitiches that can be expected. Thanks for making AAPK a great place!

It’s getting better! This is the first I’ve been able to post for a few days. Good work Bryan. We appreciate all you do!

Yeah - it looks like Bryan moved the problem nameserver from the primary to the tertiary (Royal, that means "3rd" ::poke:: ) spot in the list. That means it is getting far fewer hits (probably none in most situations) and the performance has significantly improved.

I did try that for a while, but ended up having to remove the dang thing altogether ::uc::

IMO, DNS issues are THE worst as it takes a long time to see results of any changes made due to propagation & that has been my focal point since early on.

Turned out that anything associated with the ip address that nameserver was pointing to ended up going wonky. I was using the ip as AAPK's main ip starting last Wednesday night, which was newly issued to us with new server I set up at that time.

Had to remove it from anything & everything associated with our domain to finally make headway.

I've moved AAPK to a new server probably 10 times since inception, & this has been by far the most trying experience. I was honestly expecting it to be a one night job

Hope to get the all lingering issues cleared up & get the looks & full functionality of the forum shaped up here in the next couple days. ::tu::

Please bear with me on things a bit longer. Appreciate everyone's kind words & input. ::tu:: ::tu::

I should add that there are probably a few folks who are still unable to reach AAPK as the changes can take a lot more time in some locations than others & some browsers / systems keep dns caches longer than others... I'm honestly surprised by how soon many were able to get back to the "current" version of AAPK...

I should also add that we have this server for 2 years, so stand by for more fun & excitement September or October 2021 when we will likely migrate again

Nah - it'll be WAY sooner than that - the site's popularity will skyrocket and you'll be adding more horsepower every couple of months! ::tu::

Working great for me too the last couple of days. I really like the vibrant colors. Very pleasing to the eye.

Thank You Bryan!
