Wood not bone

This 6217 Case knife is listed as a red bone 10 dot, but the seller has revised the description to a 9 dot. My Case book tells me that 1970 was the last year the "half hawkbill" was made with a bone handle. I wrote to the seller and he confirmed that the handles were wood, but has not changed the description yet.

Never saw "jigged Wood" like that before.....fine looking knife.

are the hawkbills and large coke bottle patterns the only ones that used the jigged wood like that??

I don't know the answer to your question. I only know what the Knife Collector's Guide says and what the seller emailed to me. I bought a 10 dot toothpick from him that should be bone. I will let you know more when I receive it.

I received the toothpick from the same seller. It was in excellent condition and had red bone handles per his description.
