I don’t get it? Seems very unnecessary. There are too many knives that do exactly what he wants without the plastic that will catch on the fiber of your pants. I guess some people have too much time on their hands.

To each their own I guess. I never got the wave thing anyway. My Spyderco Military flies open faster than many automatics so I won’t be zip tying anything personally.

Fellers, I believe the zip ties on the blade are for those folks that are bringing their knives to a gun fight. I hear you got to be quick for that encounter.

That is just ugly. If a thumb studded blade is what they wanted in the first place–why not just sell the knife and get one?

Tried it once on my Spyderco Ladybug Hawkbill just to see what the big deal was. It looked dumb, didn't work right, and was uncomfortable to use. Not long after, I cut the danged thing off. I do have a really banged up Emerson (that I'm 50% sure is a knockoff), and quite frankly, I never got why so many people like the Wave feature. I have some knives with flippers (and non-assisted) that open far quicker and easier. There's nothing like the opening of my CRKT M-16.
