gdogg, that’s a new one for me. What material are the handles made from? Most of those old fish knives didn’t have very attractive handles.
Salmon fishing would also be new to me. I guess I’ve just led a sheltered life catching these Florida bass. Be sure to share a picture next time when you catch a salmon.

Appreciate that, Greg. It's a real struggle to keep up. Ya'll are making it hard & I like it!sunknife wrote:A nice looking pairing there geo. My very first "modern" knife, heavily influenced by what I've seen on AAPK, of course: Kershaw Leek #1660SWBLK. Tip lock, thumbstud, Speedsafe opening, all new to me. I've never even had a liner lock before. I've had a real sheltered life.

Thanks QS, I have a container of scrap leather at the shop for various uses, making myself a few knife slips has been enjoyable.Quick Steel wrote:A very nice combo. Good looking knife with a fine looking leather slip.

This ebony S&M jack with steel liners and pins just seemed right for a lazy Sunday carry.
On a side note the beaded pouches in the pic are NOT used for knife carry or storage, that might get me in hot water with the boss.

Been carrying these two all weekend, they perform most tasks I need on the daily.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
So that is what y'all are catching way up yonder in the northeast part of the world? Salmon and bass, just looking your son's fish, must be a small mouth bass. The markings are not like the southern bass and of course the mouth is looks smaller. That's appears to big a pretty good sized fish.garddogg56 wrote:You'll enjoy that Leek GeoTF here's a little Salmon action and my son's Bass..
Do y'all filet the salmon and fry it or is there another way to eat a fresh fish?

Thanks, gdogg!

Tony, That is the first time I have encountered the term Sheffield jig. Years ago I saw it referred to as French cut MOP. In any event, it is a very nice acquisition.

Thanks Floyd. The owner of the store where I purchased the bead work said they were made in the 60's for the tourist trade. He had a couple boxes of them and I wish I had bought more as he was closing the store for good at that time.doglegg wrote:Great knife and bead work Greg.sunknife wrote:Thanks QS, I have a container of scrap leather at the shop for various uses, making myself a few knife slips has been enjoyable.Quick Steel wrote:A very nice combo.
