DJ, that is a great looking fixed blade...especially the sheath work.

Found this lonely stockman looking for a home.
Henckel 1929 in stag. Every blade is stamped and the main is etched. Couldn’t leave it behind.

Iron Hoarder,
The Rogers tool is a rare find indeed. I had one that sold quite high at auction. I believe it was issued to the predecessor of MI6 operatives (can't recall the actual name) as an escape tool. Great find. Only the 2nd one I have seen.

Indeed it is. Beautiful scales (with chips under shield) and shield but the blade has some sort of mosaic patina divot pattern to it.....

Here is what I picked up my first day in Alaska.
A hat of course, 3 Ulu knives, a cutter board and a traditional cutting bowel. Before anyone asks why I didn't get an Ulu with the caribou or bear handle I will tell you those will cost you a week's pay just about anywhere up here. I got the walnut and oak handles.
The knives are at top is a Craftsman "Old Crafty." The black handle is Richartz Solingen, rostfrel stainless, inoxydeble Germany.
On the bottom, A Case 2018 Slimline Trapper. A Colonial Prov. RI Stockman.
Left side is a yellow handle Colonial Prov. RI USA, Forest Master, Utility knife.
On the right is a Kutmaster, UTICA. N.Y. U.S.A.

Got a few this morning at the Flea across Florida yard sale. Got 2 NIB Camillus made Remington 1306's in the boxes, a Bucklite 422, a Schrade SC505 and a little bittty Case XX 6233 with a broke tip( ) and a missing shield. Also a neat little tripod with a rainbird for Miss Joy's flowers.

Phil, looks like you did good. What is a rainbird? I have one of those Bucks and they are a pretty nice knife to use and are amazingly light weight. When I see the Camillus Bullets, it actually makes me a little sad when I think that the company they made them for is gone and the company that made them is also gone. I struggle a little with change because it isn't often for the good. I have one of those 1306's somewhere in my safe too. ____Dave

Like Scott, that Caribou handled knife looks like it all business! Looks like everybody in the family will be getting a Ulu knife! I bet one of those could be used to chop up some cabbage for cole slaw. If you got the Russlock for me, just give it to somebody else. I have never, ever liked the looks of those things and I know a few fellers who love them. Keep the wonderful pictures coming, looks like you and the Mrs. are having a wonderful trip!
Minnesota Dave, Rainbird is a company that made or still makes irrigation equipment. They manufactured the "big guns" that spray/irrigate football, baseball, even agricultural applications . The one I picked up is just small one for watering the grass or a small spot in the garden, they are completely adjustable 360 degress or any lesser arc with adjustments for distance, etc. Here it is already in action yesterday afternoon:

Treefarmer you hit the nail right on the head about the Ulu. Not only is it very good at skinning, but you put your cabbage on the bowl cutting board and rock the Ulu back and forth and you have Cole slaw, diced carrots, chopped onions etc. A lady demonstrated it and she was fast with that Ulu, watch your fingers! The only reason I bought the Russlock is that a guy in a little mountain shop brought a 2'w x 2'd x 1'h box out that was packed with Case knives still in their original packaging. I wanted the whole box, but couldn't pull that off, so I settled for the one I didn't have in my collection. I won't be carrying it, it's just for show.

Kinda hate to show my flea mkt. junk, after those pretties dir110 and farmer are showing off. These 2 don't look to of been sharpened or carried much, but the Uster has a few spots on it a the Case a pin crack, little super glue and it looks like it's ready to go.

Regardless of how you feel, those are nice finds. Good brands. Solid knives worth giving a new lease on life. Flitz and elbow grease are cheap and the results satisfying.
