Rough Ryder #599 Whittler with 440A & composition
1973 Case #3201 Equal End Pen with CV & Delrin I got the RR about a week ago to see what the commotion was about. It's the first RR I've even had in my hands & it's the first knife I've bought that was made in that country. I'd rather have a different steel & different handles but I figured a split back whittler would be a good pattern to compare to one I already had. It cost me $17.98 from the outfit that owns a slew of once respectable trademarks that they put on knives that are made in the same country. Now that I crossed that line, I might as well buy something else I've never owned: a tactical knife. But I don't expect to get more than one of those, either.

Yes, it’s my first and only push button. I do have a Mall Ninja Special that I think is on a spring, but no button.samb1955 wrote: Zoogirl, it that your first automatic knife?
What attracted me to this one was it’s relatively small size. Well, that, and the fact that it was ten bucks, Canadian!

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Scott, that far Eastern fella won't ever do for you 1/2 of what your Anza can do, but some of the recent Taylor output has been serviceable for the buck. Bear & Son make usable American-made versions of popular Schrade fixed patterns (all stainless as far as I've seen to date). I have a very passable Bear version of a fauxstag Uncle Henry Sharpfinger, made in the USA and prices to move. My original OT version is still way sharper, of course.
My first dedicated user from the resurgent Maher & Grosh marque, paired with a RAT-I. Think I'll carry the whittler tomorrow, too.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Still carrying my GEC 29 but added this railsplitter today just because.
I'm sure it is a 'second/blem' as it doesn't have the blade etch the other D2 Rat Railsplitters do. Has some blade play but the w&t is smooth and strong. Should have gotten a pic of the other side as the rams horn on both sides is really nice, at least to me.Trace
