Cutter Knife History Needed

Hello, Can anyone help me with the timeline of the Cutter knife company? I am trying to find out when this company started/ended. I am somewhat new to this area of collecting and could not find any information related directly to Cutter. The makers mark is a Cutter ship with the name Cutter impressed in the center. Thank you!

Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings lists the mark as being used on cutlery by a T. Ellin and Company from 1850-1944. Googling T. Ellin, shows that name to be a manufacturer owned by a George Barber, of Arundel Street, in Sheffield, England.
Levine's Guide shows the firm of T. Ellin, as well as some other businesses and trademarks, was sold to a Joseph Elliot in Sheffield. That person/company may still be in business and own the mark, don't know for sure.

Thanks Bill, I guess that sinks my thought of it being an American maker! I have an old advertisement pocket knife that was made for Buxton and Skinner Printing & Stationary out of Chicago. My guess was around 1900 but couldn't find any Cutter through Google. I appreciate the help!
