Must say that plastic stag looks better than about any Delrin I've ever seen. Great looker, great condition, great deal for that price too. Congrats.Colonel26 wrote:royal0014 wrote:Wade, good to see you still in the game ....
I'll just ditto everyone's prior comments. Spectacular catch !!
Thanks guys.treefarmer wrote:Wade that's fine stockman and I'll agree with you, the handles aren't much to look at. I speak from experience, I have a Muskrat with those handles.

TF, I’m actually one of those sickos who kinda likes the Indian Stag. Lol
Chris I’ve been out of the knife buying game for a while. But for $30 out the door I couldn’t let this one stay!

Keep on forgetting to post this un'. Came in Wednesday.
Vintage Queen locking hawkbill. Extremely beefy, well built knife. Full half stop, tight lockup, all round heavy duty knife.
3 things have me stumped about this one.
1. The tang stamp is a long tail Q, but with USA stamped under. My copy of "American Premium Knives" has a long tail Q for 1976 transition stamp, but not with the USA. I also see a few on ebay with this same stamp.
2. The book shows #1 hawkbill. But there isn't any lockback hawkbill.
3. It shows the #1 only came in rosewood, (And if I can remember correctly) black composition handles. This one is done in Queen "Slashed Composition Winterbottom Bone". Again the book shows they only used it on there barlows. Also has a large bail hole. Which I can't remember if they made #1 with them.
Other then that, nothing wrong for $33 all said-in-done. Some staining/spotting on the back side of the blade, a couple of spots on the back-spring, and some scratches on handles from storage. But looks like it was never carried, or very very lightly. All-in-all I a super happy with this un'.
A few of the sellers pics (no camera at the moment).

Well, this knife is not a lockback, it's a liner lock.

That one looks great Skip, I guess the 3rd time is a charm.New_Windsor_NY wrote:This came yesterday, picked it up this morning. Another Camillus 1047 Scouting knife. My third Camillus 1047 with this style of shield. It does look like the third time is the charm, as this is the nicest Camillus 1047 (with a federal shaped shield) that I've bought (so far). Nothing wrong with the handles at all. The last picture shows the 3 knives in the order that I bought them (one side only). From left to right, you can see how the handles progressed from bad to better to nice. I am very happy with this one. Click on the pictures to ENLARGE.

1. Solved my problem. I have 2 Queen 79 #19 trappers that have no USA, like it says.
2. That's what I meant for the locking mechanism. Just couldn't remember the correct name for it.
Still stumped, but not as much now...

Received this Bull Dog "Celebrated Anglo Saxon Knife;" a 5 1/8" Whittler with very nicely figured Buffalo Horn handles. 5th generation. Was looking for this for two years. I'll eventually post more pictures on the Bulldog thread.

My GEC #97 Ram Foot came today but it never made it into the house. In the hour and a half between the time it was delivered at 12:59 PM and 2:30 (or so) when I went out to check the mail, it was stolen off the front porch.
This day SUCKS. For all the good it will do, I did file a police report.

Sorry mate, that stinks. In this political correct age that we live, i'm not allowed to say what i would do to the thief, oh sorry " the victim of the law enforcement system", and i do not care about THEIR rights. I may be old but we did not even lock the house or cars years ago. Hope you can get another one, they are beautiful knives.jerryd6818 wrote:My GEC #97 Ram Foot came today but it never made it into the house.
