This one is a wee bit of a stretch, but not too bad. Today I received this "Red Deer", 3 blade, swelled center, pocket knife. Made in Pakistan. It is marked on the main blade only, "Red Deer" (pictured) and on the opposite side, "Pakistan", which is too light to be pictured.

Today I received this Imperial "Deer Head" scout/camping knife. There's damage to main blade and the bail is missing. Other than that, not too bad. I gave it a minor cleaning. It'll fit in nicely with my other "Deer Head" knives.

Skip, I've been wondering what might have triggered your interest in collecting deer head knives besides that they make for an interesting and varied collection. So, the obvious question: Do you hunt deer?

No, I don't hunt at all. I just like the looks of the knives and there seems to be quite a variety of them to be found. So, I have the deer head, the steer head and now I have to find the elk head. Plus all the variations that are available for each. :D

That's a VERY good looking knife and definitely qualifies for this topic. I thought you would've had the Camillus, limited edition, commemorative "ducks on the blade" knife. :D ::tu::

I knew you had to have the Camillus, "ducks on blade" knife. Yes, basically, if it flies, crawls, slithers, swims, stampedes, walks on two legs or on four legs, etc., etc., it qualifies. There are some posted on here that really streeeeeeeeeeeeeetch the topic. But who cares, it's all fun. ::tu:: :D

Here's one I had forgotten. I only have the one but there must be somebody out there that collects the series.

And how about this Bulldog with the Bulldogs etched on the blade?

Or a Cotton Sampler with a Boll Weevil etched on the blade.

And last for today, a Fightn' Rooster with a rooster etched on the blade.

Thanks for reminding me Jim. I had forgotten all about the Ka-Bar with the dog's head shield. And I knew someone else had to have at least one of those Camillus American Wildlife series.

How many were in that series, do you recall? The one I pictured is the only one I have.

That Western is a neat knife, single blade with split scale lock. I got it in almost unused condition about a year ago.

At least 16. There could have been more but I didn't take the time to check all the catalogs. This is just out of the 1976 catalog.

My latest Imperial "deer head" knife. In much better condition than the last one I posted. At least the main blade wasn't used as a screwdriver. Click a picture to ENLARGE.

Received my Camillus #17 Bird Knife in today’s mail (one of the American Wildlife Series from the mid 1970’s). I haven’t tried to collect this series but I do like hunting (and some fishing) specific purpose knives. I now have three of the American WIldlife pocketknives (also have the white Delrin handled Fish Knife and one of the large Trappers). Guess I need to find one of the Lock backs to have a basic set. Went digging, found the #32 Fish Knife in my shop and the #10A Large Trapper still in its original package stored in a footlocker. I bought the #10A Large Trapper here on AAPK just after I joined in 2011- it's the first knife I remember buying from an AAPK Store after meeting this fine group of enablers (who showed off knives I had never dreamed of). I purchased it from a fellow who used Sergeant Schultz from Hogan's Hero's as his avatar - nice guy but he has disappeared from AAPK. According to the brochure in the 10A box there is also a #1006 Fillet and a #11 Lok-Back I need to acquire in order to have one of each pattern in the set. OH
